The Rostra provides commentary through the perspective of Mount Liberty College students and faculty on current events and the liberal arts, “for looking back can sometimes help you on.”

The Rostra is a plural latin word meaning beak or curved bow of a ship. Gaius Maenius took home six bronze ship rams (rostra) after an important naval victory in 388 BC, which originally decorated a curved portion of a wall at the Roman Forum. These turned into the rostra (or rostrum, singular) we know today; the speaker’s platform at the Forum.
